This Regatta Grows and Grows in participation every year!
Get ready for the Sudden Valley Regatta.
This site is great for sailing and swimming. No need for heavy gear or
bundling up. By July this valley is filled with hot thermals and the lake
has warmed up. Between the races, or after a day of sailing, jump off the hull
and cool down. Wear a T-shirt, shorts, and harness while running the
course. This is what summer sailing is all about.
The regatta site has a great washroom and
changing facility. The water front transitions from grass to water -no rocks or
dragging the boat over sand. Lots of area to park your trailers and rig
the boats with other Hobie sailors. There is no tent camping in the park area
but two campgrounds are close by. A gas station and coffee shop is located at
the park entrance and usually suffices f or
a muffin and black brew. For Hotels, stay tuned and we will have more.
Dinner is served by the hosting fleet -so you only need lunch and breakfast.
Expect over thirty Hobies comprised of youth Waves, 16s, 17s, 18s, and Tigers at
this event. Participants at this event come from Seattle, Vancouver,
Washington State, and Oregan. Class racing is H16, H17, H18, Tiger and Wave.
If Vancouver
Hobie sailors of any club want to get to this event, contact
Mark Jones at (604)983-2319 and we will
try to get your Hobie to this event.
